BackPack Buddies
BackPack Buddies, a new ministry at St. Paul’s, helps provide children from low-income households with supplemental nutritious kid-friendly groceries on Friday afternoons to eat over the weekend when free school lunches and breakfasts are not provided. Each BackPack Buddies bag is full of donated or purchased food for six meals: two proteins, two vegetables, one fruit, two noodles, two breakfasts, two milks, one 100% fruit juice and two snacks. Coordinators work with the school system to identify children most in need. St. Paul’s committee works with those school officials to select students to receive BackPack Buddies.
