Ushers

Ushers are often the first people whom worshippers meet when they arrive at the church. Working in teams, the ushers assist in the ministry of hospitality by welcoming people, especially guests or strangers, at services in both the chapel and church. Ushers hand out the worship bulletins. Their other functions are to help everyone find seating in the more crowded liturgies; be prepared to assist those who may become ill or may need special assistance during a service; and to collect the monetary offering and direct the orderly flow of people to and from the altar during communion. The ushers often present the gifts before the Eucharist.
