Stations of the Cross – St. Timothy’s
March 29 @ 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
Join us at 2 p.m. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church for the Stations of the Cross.
Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. Two very old services help to facilitate this remembrance, The Stations of the Cross and the Veneration of the Cross. The Stations are adapted from pilgrimage sites in Jerusalem where Jesus suffered his Passion and death. In the Veneration of the Cross, the clergy and people approach the cross and offer a gesture of respect for what it represents. Many people kneel and kiss the cross. In the past, many people approached the cross by crawling on hands and knees.
Join us at 2 p.m. at St. Timothy’s for a guided Stations of the Cross.
St. Paul’s church building will also be unlocked from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. for anyone who would like to pray the Stations of the Cross on their own in our church. Literature will be available in English and Spanish for self-guided Stations.
Note: The 2 p.m. service is at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 107 Louis St., Greenville, NC 27858.
