Loosely Bound – James

February 19 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Good evening, everyone! While you’re trying to stay safe and warm in our coming snow threat, think about the next meeting of St. Paul’s Loosely Bound Book Group.
We’ll meet next on Wednesday, February 19th, 10:00am in Friendly Hall/Houston Library.
Next month, we are promised not just a good read, but a twisting and captivating adventure In the story of James, by Percival Everett (2024). James is not only the title of the book, but the primary character and voice of much of the book – James, the escaped slave who accompanied his friend Huckleberry Finn on the river. Everett’s award-winning novel is the reimaging of Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from Jim’s unique perspective.
Join us as we wonder, laugh, and perhaps weep in this retelling of an American classic. Feel free to bring a friend — remember guests and newcomers are always very welcome!
