Easter Sunday – St. Paul’s
March 31 @ 6:00 am - 1:00 pm
On Easter Sunday, we remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is the culmination of the 40 days of Lent, and draws the Sacred Triduum to a close. The season of Easter continues for 6 more Sundays until the feast of Pentecost. The Easter Vigil differs from other Easter Sunday services as the first celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection. It is traditionally when new adult converts are baptized. It is held in the dark hours, and a “new fire” is kindled, which is used to light the new Paschal candle, from which all baptismal candles are lit for the year.
One of our Easter traditions is to celebrate Jesus’s resurrection by bringing flowers from our own homes to add to our flowering cross. Bring your own flowers or grab some from the bucket and add them to the beautiful cross our flower guild sets up in the courtyard.
