About Our Teachers

All of the teachers here at St. Paul’s along with most of St. Paul’s staff are certified in CPR for infants, children, and adult. Teachers, teacher assistants and staff of St. Paul's are required to attend a sexual ethics training class & have a background check as required by the Diocese of East Carolina. You can meet the teachers below, and see the staff on the clergy/staff area of this website.

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

You need JavaScript enabled to view it \| 752-3482 ext: 210 Before becoming St. Paul's Preschool Director the Fall of 2011 - 2012 school year, Diane became a teacher’s assistant with Pitt County Schools. She worked at Falkland Elementary School as an assistant in first, third and fourth grades. She also assisted the school bookkeeper, secretaries and SIMS coordinator as needed. Before realizing her joy in working with children, she worked as a retail customer service and sales manager for thirteen years. Diane is the mother of identical twin boys, Ben and John, who attended St. Paul’s Preschool and is an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She loves working with children and watching them grow, both academically and spiritually. Please feel free to contact Diane at anytime with questions or concerns. Hours 9:00a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Monday through Friday. (Off during summer breaks)

TEACHERS OF OUR PARENTS MORNING OUT PROGRAM
	Jessica Craft Jessica will be the Assistant in the M/W Parents Morning Our Class. Her degrees are in Business and Accounting. Jessica transitioned to preschool teaching 2 years ago as an Assistant teacher in a 3-year-old class. She has two daughters, Lola and Macy.

	Jennifer Dupree Jennifer has a BS degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Eastern Carolina University. Greenville has always been home for Jennifer, her husband and her two lovely girls, Olivia and Charlotte. Olivia loves horseback riding and we are sure she got her start in that sport by having her picture taken with Buddy the Pony at St. Paul’s Preschool! The Duprees love to spend time relaxing at the river and enjoying family time.

TEACHERS OF OUR 2 YEAR OLDS
	Samantha Laughinghouse Samantha is a teacher in our 2 year old program and has been with the preschool for three years. She also teaches Sunday School here at St. Paul’s Episcipal Church. She is a Eucharistic Minister, Co-chair of the Alter Guild among serving with other ministries of the church. “Miss Sam” as the children call her has two children, Emma and Charlie who both attended St. Paul’s Preschool.
	Julie Shrewsbury Julie is a teacher in our 2 year old Tuesday/Thursday class. She has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication and a minor in English from East Carolina University. This is her second year at St. Paul's Preschool. She is a mother of 2 daughters, ages 6 and 4, who both attended St. Paul's Preschool. Julie, her husband & her two lovely daughters love to spend time at the beach during summer.
TEACHERS OF OUR 3 YEAR OLDS
	Darlene Messerli A graduate of ECU, Darlene is a retired Pitt County Schools teacher with 23 years of experience with young children. She enjoys spending time at her second home, The Magic Kingdom, in Emerald Isle with family and friends. Her dream is to one day have a house “big enough for everybody to get up in my lap!” In her free time, she likes to read, garden, and play with her granddaughter, Aubrey, and enjoys time with her husband Charles!

	Libby Jethro Libby teaches our Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3-year-old class. She has a B.S. degree in Education (k-4) from UNC-Chapel Hill. She taught four years of public school kindergarten and has eleven years of teaching experience at the preschool level. This is her tenth year teaching at St. Paul’s Preschool, nine of which have been with the 3-year-old class. Libby and her husband Gordon have three teenage boys ages 19, 17, and 13. She and her family love to spend their spare time at the beach where they share a home with her good friend and teaching assistant, Daphne Nifong, and her family.

TEACHERS OF OUR 4 YEAR OLDS
	Katherine Pollard Katherine received her undergraduate degrees from NC State and Meredith College. She has a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from ECU, and has five years public school experience at the kindergarten and first grade levels. Her ten years preschool experience includes two’s , three’s and four’s. A native of Tarboro, Katherine is happy to call Greenville home now. She and husband Monty have two children, recently graduated from college!

	Renee Parker Renee is a graduate from St. John's University with a BS degree in Athletic Administration & Management, along with a minor in Childhood Education. She did graduate work at the University of Southern Maine. Before accepting a teachers position with us here at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, she was a substitute teacher for four years. She has now been a teacher in our 4 year old program for six years. Renee is a mother of four children; of which they all attended the preschool programs here at St. Paul's.
