Preschool Staff

 All of the teachers here at St. Paul’s along with most of St. Paul’s staff are certified in CPR & First Aid Training for infants, children, and adult. Teachers and Staff are required to attend a sexual ethics training class & have a background check as required by the Diocese of East Carolina. You can meet the teachers below, and see the staff on the clergy/staff area of this website.

Our Preschool Director is Gretchen Ewen. Gretchen recently worked at Wahl-Coates Elementary in Greenville, North Carolina, as an assistant teacher in the Kindergarten program. As a mother of two girls, Gretchen is aware of the importance of an early childhood education. She can be contacted anytime with questions. Mrs. Libby Jethro will be teaching our M/W/F 3-year-old class. Libby has a B.S. in Education (k-4) with four years teaching experience in kindergarten with the public school system. Libby has been working at the preschool level for seven years.

Mrs. Julie Edwards will be teaching our TTH 3-year-old class. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from ECU and is the former owner operator of a Farmville Dance Academy. She has worked in dance education at the preschool level through adult classes for over eleven years. Julie has taught the TTH 3-year old class for over 2 years.

Mrs. Cissy Fisher will be teaching the MWF 2-year-old class. Cissy studied Recreational Therapy and Interior Design at East Carolina University (1984-1989). Cissy has taught the 2-year old class for over 2 years.

Mrs. Elizabeth Blount will be teaching the TTH 2-year-old class. She has a Master’s in Art Education and taught at St. Peter’s for 8 years. Elizabeth moved from Wilson, NC to Greenville in 1992 and both of her children, Mabel and William, attended St. Paul’s Preschool. We are very happy to have Elizabeth join our wonderful staff.
