Lively and informative sessions on a wide range of topics offer adults many opportunities for learning.
The Winter/Spring session for adult formation began January 8.
“To Know Christ and Make Him Known” is the Mission Statement for St. Paul’s. So what do we know about Jesus Christ? How well do we know Him? How do we best make Him known? These questions, and others, will be addressed in the upcoming Adult Forums in January.
The discussions will focus on the following topics:
January 8 Knowing Jesus Christ Through His Earthly Ministry;
January 15 Knowing Jesus Christ Through His Personality; and
January 22 Making Jesus Christ Known Through Discipleship.
The presenter will be Dr. David Crean, a parishioner of St. Paul’s. David is a certified EfM mentor as well as the author or co-author of several Christian formation curricula, including the widely-used Journey to Adulthood, and writes the monthly Spirituality articles in The Epistle. Questions regarding the Forum topics may be directed to him, either at church, by telephone at 756-0808, or by e-mail at

The new year began on January 11 with a seven week study of the book The Seven Steps of Women's Spirituality by Maria Harris - "A woman's spirituality is a rhythmic series of movements that can be imagined as steps in a dance...At whatever step we find ourselves, we are where we are meant to be."
New Men's Group
Men’s Breakfast for fellowship and conversation, we are inviting the men of our parish to consider this as a Lenten opportunity. We will be meeting for the first time on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Scullery on the corner of Evans and 5th Streets. There are all sorts of things we can do in our meeting, like focus on the scriptures, suggest a book as a Lenten source of dialogue, do what I have often done in churches I serve and that is to hold the Bible in one hand and the daily newspaper in the other (not literally but as a way of talking about “Where is God” in our world and how are we called to respond to events, issues, etc. in the spirit of Jesus). We might decide on a weekly theme, like ‘spirituality’ or ‘forgiveness’ or some such area for reflection and conversation. We’re meeting on the 24th open to how the Spirit leads us! This first gathering will be an opportunity to meet, listen to one another, and then decide together what to do in our journey from ashes to Easter. Come join us! --- Bob+
