UPCOMING ACTIVITIES FOR OUR YOUTH
May 23 was our last Sunday for Christian formation and our youth program as we transition to our summer schedule. Youth Sunday was held on that same day and it was a day of festivities as we celebrated important transitions and enjoyed a picnic together.
Our youth plan to come together during the summer for the experience of outreach and continued growth together. Please check below for news about summer events or look on youth calendar!

SUMMER YOUTH NEWS - 2010
Shared Local Mission Trip – the Youth of St. Timothy’s and St. Paul’s
For three days in July, our local community was blessed by the tender care of St. Timothy's and St. Paul's youth and adults. It was the "first annual" local mission trip -- sponsored by St. Timothy's.
The young people were introduced to a variety of outreach programs within our own community. They helped stock shelves at the Food Bank and folded articles of clothing in preparation for the doors to open to welcome people in need of food and clothing. They worked in St. Timothy's garden -- a community garden tended by that parish and others. The harvest is intended to share and so car trunks are loaded to take the food where the people live who may need it the most. They visited church members and others in retirement places such as Cyprus Glen.
We had "fun-filled times helping others", shared Madeleine Ewen. Each young person felt the importance of their actions and was blessed as they became closer to one another. “It was a lot of work, but at the end it felt good because I felt I had made a difference.” explained Turner Klitzkie. Their actions were appreciated throughout Pitt County. Each one said that they would do it again and look forward to a time when this can be planned.
The Rev. Mimi Lacy said it clearly when she spoke at the closing service, "the life of a young person changes through the work of mission." We give thanks to St. Timothy's for their vision, leadership and for their hospitality.
